    Here are 5 readily available foods that are probably already in your kitchen cupboard to help you shed those unwanted kilos.

    Oatmeal (Porridge)
    If you’re looking to lose weight but still want the carbs, you cannot go past oatmeal. Medical research suggests that this breakfast staple lowers cholesterol levels and trims the waistline.  Bingo!

    Teamed with some organic blueberries and almonds and you have the breakfast of champions and keep trim at the same time!!

    Grapefruit
    Grapefruit has all the main workings of a weight-loss food. It’ll kick start your metabolism, but still keep you feeling full. The fruit has heaps fibre. Whether you choose to eat one for breakfast or serve it on the side with grilled chicken, this fruit will help curb any unhealthy cravings.

    Spices
    Spices like ginger, cinnamon, cayenne, and turmeric may help you burn more fat. They are a must with most meals. I love turmeric on y chicken. It is also reported to lower inflammation.

    Almonds
    We call almonds the King or Queen of the nuts. They are so versatile; you can put into anything or eat alone.
