Organic blessed thistle is a distinctly bitter loose herb for people who enjoy traditional herbal flavours. Supplied dried and cut, it gives you a simple, single ingredient option for your herb cupboard.

    Brew

Start with 1 level teaspoon in 250 mL freshly boiled water. Cover, steep for 5 minutes and strain through a fine mesh infuser. Dilute to taste if the bitterness is too strong.

    Drink

Expect a bitter, herbal cup. Start with a light brew so you can judge the flavour.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is blessed thistle tea?

Blessed thistle tea is an infusion of the dried herb Cnicus benedictus. This product contains only organic cut blessed thistle.

Is blessed thistle the same as milk thistle?

No. Blessed thistle is Cnicus benedictus. Milk thistle is Silybum marianum. They are different plants and should not be substituted simply because both names contain thistle.

What does blessed thistle taste like?

It has a pronounced bitter taste with earthy herbal notes. A shorter steep and extra water make a lighter cup.

Does blessed thistle tea contain caffeine?

Pure blessed thistle is naturally caffeine free. This product contains no black or green tea.

Can I use blessed thistle while breastfeeding?

Ask your doctor or a qualified lactation professional before use. This product is not a treatment for low milk supply, and we do not promise that it will increase milk production.

    Are there precautions?

Avoid during pregnancy. Check with a health professional before use when breastfeeding, taking medicines or managing a medical condition. Avoid if you are allergic to blessed thistle or related plants in the daisy family.

How should I store blessed thistle?

Keep sealed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, strong odours and moisture. Use a dry spoon and follow the best before date on your pack.
