    Iced Matcha Green Tea Recipes

There are many things you can do and make with matcha green tea. From a green tea water bomb mask to face masks with aloe vera and body scrubs. But the most traditional method of using matcha green tea is to drink it, of course.

With the hot weather in full swing, the perfect way to consume all of the goodness of green tea is by sipping back on an iced cold mix of matcha green tea.

So, here are two of Bondi Beach Tea Co.’s favourite iced matcha green tea recipes.

30-Second Iced Cold Matcha Green Tea

This green iced tea recipe is quick and easy to make. So simple that you can make it wherever you have access to your matcha and iced water.

    Ingredients

    • 2 x teaspoons of Bondi Pure Green Organic Matcha Green Tea
    • Fresh filtered water
    • Plenty of ice cubes

    Method

    1. Place two heaped teaspoons of matcha green tea into a cocktail shaker (a container with a lid will make do if you don’t have access to a cocktail shaker)
    2. Fill the shaker with plenty of ice cubes and water
    3. Pour into a chilled glass and drink immediately

Matcha green tea powder does not dissolve in cold water. After settled, the matcha will sink to the bottom of the glass. If this occurs, simply stir the iced green tea again before you take your next sip.

To add some additional flavour to your 30-second iced matcha green tea, add a squeeze of lemon into the filtered water. You can also garnish your finished tea with a few lemon slices.

    Matcha Mint Iced Green Tea

Resembling more of a mocktail than an iced tea, this iced matcha green tea recipe is super tasty and even more impressive on the eye.

    Ingredients

    • 1 x cup of filtered water
    • 1 x teaspoon of matcha green tea
    • 1 x cup of crushed ice
    • Half of a lime, sliced
    • A handful of fresh mint leaves

    Method

    1. Place the matcha green tea and water into a cocktail shaker. Give it a good shake until there are no lumps left in the mixture
    2. Add the ice into the shaker with a squeeze of lime juice
    3. Put the mint leaves into your hand. Using your other hand clap the mint in your palm a couple of times. This helps to release the flavour of the mint.
    4. Add those mint leaves into the cocktail shaker and shake it further to mix it all up
    5. Pour the mixture into a glass and enjoy

If you want even more flavour of the mint and a sweetener, you can make a minty sugar syrup. Simply heat one teaspoon of sugar with a third cup of water in a saucepan. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Remove from the heat and add in a few mint leaves. Let the leaves steep until the mixture cools, then strain out the leaves.

Add a small amount of this minty sugar syrup to your matcha green iced tea for additional flavour. We only recommend using this in very small quantities due to the sugar content.
