Great Reasons for Drinking Your Daily Cup of Green Tea
It’s lean, and it’s green, and it is packed with plenty of beneficial health factors too. If you didn’t already know, green tea puts up a real challenge against some of the nasties that can give our bodies a troublesome time. This all-natural ingredient offers benefits that can help us from the outside in.
So, sit back, take another swig on your cup of green tea and check out some of the logic why you should enjoy a cup or two in your daily regime.
According to research by the University of Maryland Medical Centre, cancer rates are lesser in countries like Japan, who enjoy green tea regularly. It is not a definitive answer to the lower rates; however green tea contains good chemicals that could help protect cells against one of the initial stages of cancer growth. These chemicals (EGC, ECG, EGCG and EC) are well-reported to have antioxidant powers.
There are some studies published by the American Society for Nutrition, that have indicated green tea as a potential factor for lower cholesterol rates.
It is reported that females who enjoy up to three cups of the green goodness each day, could slow the development of bone loss due to ageing and reduce their risk of fractures as a result of osteoporosis.
Harvard Medical School found that people who drank green tea frequently, had a lower risk of having a stroke or heart attack.
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported that green tea may also help to reduce body fat and illnesses associated with obesity, like diabetes.
Another study headed by researchers at a Japanese university, concluded that there was less gum-tissue loss and bleeding in people who drank green tea more often. Their studies* indicated,
“Green tea’s ability to help reduce symptoms of periodontal disease may be due to the presence of the antioxidant catechin. The indicators of periodontal disease measured in this study, suggest the existence of an inflammatory response to periodontal bacteria in the mouth. By interfering with the body’s inflammatory response to periodontal bacteria, green tea may actually help promote periodontal health and ward off further disease. Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the gums and bone supporting the teeth, and has been associated with the progression of other diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.”
Green tea contains much less caffeine than coffee, about a quarter of the amount actually. Given this, you can still enjoy a quick shot of energy associated with caffeine, without the caffeine overload that is sometimes felt after a few cups of the heavier counterpart.
Next time you are feeling a little less enthused, perhaps need that extra shot of energy or feel like you’d just like to do something good for your body, have a quick cup of Bondi Beach Tea Co. Pure Green tea. It’s a natural wonder that you won’t feel guilty for enjoying, unlike some of the other beverages we flush into our system.
