Green TeašŸµ is the Natural Beauty Secret We Love to Drink!

Green TeašŸµ is the Natural Beauty Secret We Love to Drink!

We know that green tea offers a powerhouse of health-promoting properties for our insides; a potential cancer preventive, combating of heart disease, lowering cholesterol, reducing the risk of diabetes, and then some (Iā€™m out of breath already), but we donā€™t usually familiarise ourselves with green tea as a skin and beauty booster.

Green tea helps to flush out toxins from the skin, reduces blemishes and pimples, helps to heal scars, reduces inflammation, and offers improved benefits for skin elasticity.

The Bondi Beach Tea Co. team have been working hard behind the scenes, researching and experimenting with all things tea. Through its rich antioxidant and nutrient properties, we have uncovered a few secrets that have heralded another way of looking at the green drink of goodness, and we wanted to unleash these skin and beauty secrets on our dedicated readers.

Over the next few articles, we will share some of the ways green tea can help to make you beautiful on the outside too. So, sip up a cup of your favourite green tea and feast your eyes on our skin and beauty surprises.

Three easy ways to use green tea to benefit your complexion

    1. Reduce the bags

Thanks to its caffeine properties and tannins, green tea placed under the eyes help to get the fluids circulating and can assist to reduce swelling, redness, tired, and baggy-looking eyes.

Simply steep your bags of green tea very briefly, then place them in the fridge to cool. Once cool enough, put your green tea bags under your eyes for about five to ten minutes. Once you have completed your green tea eye bag soak, dab under your eyes with a wet tissue to remove the green tea dampness. We recommend this regime twice daily, and you can even just re-use the bags from your morning and afternoon cuppas.

    1. Give a booster to your regular face mask

One of the most effective ways to get the antioxidant properties directly on your face is to apply the green tea to your face, and matcha green tea powder is excellent for this exercise! Simply add a pinch of matcha green tea to your face mask and mix it around before applying it. Follow the directions on your face mask as you would usually.

If you do not have any of our Bondi Pure Green MatchaĀ  Green Tea, you could also use the leaves from our Bondi Spring Harvest tea instead.

    1. Green tea for acne treatment

If you experience the odd pimple or two or are prone to the entire kit and caboodle acne breakout, green tea can help with healing your inflamed skin faster, and even possibly from breaking out at all. Just apply some of your steeped green tea directly to the breakout region with a cotton tip and leave sit for five minutes before rinsing.

With these quick, simple, and all-natural green tea face treatments, you get the benefit of one of natureā€™s richest antioxidants directly on your skin, for a slice of the price of expensive skincare ranges.

If you want to give an added boost to your complexion, check out Bondi Beach Tea Co.ā€™s Fresh Face Complexion Tea that offers a range of herbs to help you look and feel great too.
